That is why I am trying to get an app running outside of Windows that will change that.

I believe I can't change "active" as long as there is another partition marked as active. I am not sure of the correct terms for them, but I beleive that the normal C drive should be "marked", primary partition, active, boot. With my poking around and web searching, I have the feeling that the settings for the drive are wrong. Partitions:ġ - No name (none), 100MB FAT32, 24.1 MB usedģ - I:, NTFS Primary, 206GB of 465GB Normally the C drive The normal operation of the failed boot drive is UEFI.įailure mode for the original disk is no boot device found (or something to that effect). I have the bios set for both UEFI and the older format acceptable. I would also be interested in hearing from Macrium explaining why this happened in the first place. I am not sure I can actually access the files to move them around with my tool. It would appear the fix may be to replace the new boot with the data from the old boot. There is another whole set of boot information also in the partition, From the dates, it appears to be the original boot. Nothing.Įxamining the boot record with the partition tool, has one set of boot information from the day I allowed Reflect to alter the boot record. I tried a boot record repair (Reflect I believe, it has been a week) from Win PE. The application refuses to make any changes to the boot. I have tried a partition manager from a DOS boot. Was having Reflect enable booting to Reflect if there was a problem. The only thing that happened (that I am aware of) before this started.
